Spring has arrived.

img_0760Welcome back good weather. It’s been awhile since we saw you. Thepuppies have started spring training. Friday night we started the first mobile party unit fun time happy hour. This involves a twelve pack, lime, knife, undisclosed locations along the lake, music from a tiny phone speaker, bikes, southwest snack mix, bagel chips, and peeing down hill (much better then level surfaces and extremely better then uphill). You get the idea. We learned a valuable lesson: Happy hour should be mobile and wherever you want it to be.

Saturday thepuppies performed the best southside bike tour ever attempted. Yes, i am going to put it out there. The best tour ever. It’s there and it can’t be taken back. To celebrate TJ’s return to real life (no longer taking architecture tests) we (shannon, jeremy, me) took him down south to see the sites. Sites visited included in order: The Clarke House, The Platt Luggage Building (facade only…building was destroyed to expand McCormick), Wheeler-Kohn House, Second Presbyterian Church, Chess Records Office and Studio, On Leong Merchants Assoc. Building, Kent House, Roloson Houses, Crown Hall with new McCormick Tribune Campus Center at IIT, Pilgrim Baptist Church (facade only, church destroyed by fire in 2006), Soldiers’ Home, Stephen A. Douglas Tomb, Heller House, Robie House, The midway of the University of Chicago, Japanese Garden at Jackson Park, The Museum of Science and Industry, Smart House at Science and Industry. Breakfast was done right at Mellow Yellow in Hyde Park. We even made it back up north by are deadline of 2 pm (almost). I thought one of the best highlights was cruising through the Kenwood neighborhood. This area had beautiful and dilapidated mansions. Huge homes in various states, it was really interesting. Definitely worth the trip. Explore your city.

Thepuppies were born on April 9th 2008. We will be toasting good health this April 9th at Meli Cafe at 301 S. Halsted. Meeting time is 6:45. Show up earlier if you want to slam more coffee, show up late if you just want a quick bite to eat. If your brain is working that early we can discuss future events for the spring / summer.

Yeaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!
