Made it to the Morton Arboretum and back. It is a great ride if you make it through the west side in one piece. Once you get past Oak Park you can pick up the Illinois Prairie Path, take it West to Glen Ellyn then head south. It’s 30 miles, then you can cruise the park (main trail is around 9 miles), then head on back home. Missed the foil-age but it was such a great day on Sunday it was still a perfect ride. Bring tubes because there was a lot of glass on the beginning of the trail. Managed to see the Frank Lloyd Wright home on the way back in. I can recommend stopping at Shannon’s Pub in Glenn Ellyn for a pint and a steak. Seriously, great steak. Careful, one imperial pint apparently can drunk you after riding all day.

Hello everyone, thanks for coming by to the Super Game Party #1 Fun Time and making it a great event. New Orleans: work in progress

It’s been vacation time. But let’s get back to Chicago and get this party started. We have had puppies all over the place lately, Ireland, Scotland, Philly, Austin, New Orleans. Me and JackRabbit slim have returned from our trip down south. A few lovely days in Austin and New Orleans. Great bike culture in Austin, not so much in New Orleans. Who cares, both places are great locations to get drunk. We managed to score some bikes in New Orleans and sweated the day away on two wheels. Interesting city, you really can go from nice to pure shit back to nice and back to “am i going to die?” in a few blocks. Hoping to get a few more good rides in before the snow hits. Let me know if you have any good ideas. Also, we got the marathon this weekend, that means Kumas get your burger on party later that day (Oct. 11th).

Im thinking of having a party Oct. 24th to get everyone in the Halloween mood. Here is the deal: We are bringing back all the games we played as kids (you remember when we used to do stuff, not just watch cable and play video games). You have to show up with one game (idea and supplies). Ideas include egg toss, Bozo buckets, pinatas, hot potato, etc. If we get messed up enough we can also go out and play ghost in the graveyard, TV tag, and others. Also bring your pumpkin and get ready to spill it’s guts and carve it up. As for the big day the Urban Initiatives Halloween Bash is the place to be. Don’t even kid yourself and think of going to another party.

Dramatic finish of anti-triathlon triathlon

It’s the time of year my pathological denial sets in. Summer is not ending, I will be able to ride my bike without multiple layers for many more months. I will repeat this mantra until I am covered in snow. Anyways, the first FREE chicago triathlon went off like a rocket. Congrats to all finishers. Kumas should be the finish line for all Chicago race events. Oktoberfest kicked off last night and finished with a pizza from heaven (artichoke, canadian bacon, andouille sausage….what?). Lot’s of rides this weekend: The Boulevard Lakefront Tour and the Northshore Century are both on Sunday. For those looking for post ride fun come out to Misericordia Fest (6300 N. Ridge) from 11:00am to 6:00pm, i’ll be there soaking up the sun.

New Music Posted: Some Mike, Some Theo, Some Nonsense

We made it to Lake Geneva and back in one weekend. Great times were had. Pictured above are the two nice Sherpa’s I hired to haul the gear up there. We rode up Saturday camped at Big Foot Beach State Park (campsite 18 is where to do your thing) and hit the carnival that was in town. I can’t get enough of carnivals and Spotted Cow beer = things that just belong together. If you ever get the chance ride the Spin Out….pee your pants fun. The ride home on Sunday was perfect, no wind, plenty of sun and butterburgers. Get yourself Culverized fool.

So, here’s the skinny on the race. Starts at Ohio St. beach for the swim, transition to RIC where are bikes will be. Bike down south, then back up north to my house. Dump your bike, grab your shoes, eat, pee, whatever. Start the run (map to be posted soon). Run up to Kuma’s Corner. Eat, drink. Cab / bus back to my house if you want or leave your bike till later that week, does not matter to me. If you want to give me a slim t-shirt i will run with a super fabulous fanny pack and that way you can at least have a dry shirt to change into at the bar. Give your running shoes to me earlier in the week and i will keep them at my house till race day. Invite anyone else you may think may be interested. Our race will be just slightly longer then a standard tri because we are bad ass. One more thing, you must be hung over to participate. No early to bed, no carbo loading allowed.

Have not posted much lately but I have keeping super busy. Rafting was excellent. Phish is just not like the good old days. Air and Water is crowded. It is fun to swim just north of Promontory point. We already miss Peter, give AZ hell buddy. Thats the short of what has been up. I will be posting the map for the first annual Anti Triathlon Triathlon soon. Study it. Event going down in a blaze of glory 8/30/09. Also, planning a journey up north to the promised land. Leaving for Lake Geneva early 8/22/09. 90 miles Saturday, 90 miles Sunday. And now a special treat….just rock it the f’ out with Dragonforce. Why? Because you can.
